Kiwame
means 'approved' in
Japanese. It is usually found on Japanese prints of the
19th century in the form
of censorship seals. Characteristics of Kiwame resistors
are considerably low thermal noise levels (lower than
metal film), effortless reproduction ('non fatigue')
subjectively perceived as an increase of headroom and
extensive neutrality.
When used in circuits, we feel that both audio extremes
are better extended. The noise floor improves when used as
a voltage dropping resistor, giving a quieter background.
